686 is Killin’ it Again This Year!
We’ve all been guilty of ditching comfort for fashion when it comes to snowboard boots and attire. Something looks cool and we silently convince ourselves that the pain in the boots will eventually subside and we’ll have a comfortable day riding. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen. Instead, we put ourselves out there as guinea pigs and spend our hard earned money on products we want to believe we will love all season, but really have no idea if it’s right for us. Lucky for you, we only carry products that we back and our staff is always ready to help you make the right decision! Like the 686/New Balance Collaboration Boot that offers comfort as well as style. Or the 686/Levis snowboard outerwear. No need to give up the comfort of your favorite pair of denim. Instead, you can now wear them up on the hill but stay warm and dry as well.
Never heard of 686 before? Well to give some background about this independent company, it’s been around since 1992 and is best known for it’s Smarty Line outerwear with zip out liners, their legit tool belts and the impressive amount of technology invested in each piece they create. Some companies only offer price point products or items that are expensive for some people’s budgets. 686 instead offers a wide variety of products from both ends of the spectrum at different price ranges. And don’t be fooled — a less expensive price tag doesn’t mean that quality is compromised with this company. It just means there might be less bells and whistles for that customer looking for something more basic yet durable at the same time. Stop by our store or check us out online and see for yourself what the new line can offer for you this year!

Bones Street Tech Wheels(STF)
There is nothing more annoying than catching the tiniest of all pebbles in the world and coming to a complete halt; throwing you from your board. You step back on and push, only to hear the awful sound of a flat spot coming from your new set of wheels. “:NOO!!!” Is what probably goes through your head, as it does mine. Sure, you don’t have to buy a new set. We all know skate companies can offer some pricey wheels, but now you have one awful sounding wheel, while rolling on smooth skate park cement.
Ever get tired of spending your hard-earned-money on new wheels every time you flat spot one? Well from my experience, wheel companies’ marketing departments give high praise to their urethane and guarantee that you just bought the best set on the market. I feel the one company that holds true to their word, is BONES® WHEELS. Their Street Tech Formula (STF) is one of the best wheels out there, to date. (STF) is specifically engineered from top quality components to obtain all the best properties necessary for the ultimate in street wheel performance. This means you can catch pebbles, power slide, etc. and know your riding a solid set of wheels.
The good guys at Bones Wheels have created one of the best urethane formulas with a higher rebound. The higher rebound offers more slide ability and speed, while resisting flat spots that can happen from daily street skating. This is one wheel I, and many other skaters stand behind. In my opinion, there are very few companies who can come close to what Bones has to offer. Why take the chance? Street Tech Formula wheels come in a bunch of different sizes ranging from 49mm all the way up to a 54cm. They even offer pro wheels. Sweet!
For $37(plus tax) you can have a set of these bomb proof wheels, and skate worry free of the dreaded flat spot. The Bones (STF’s) and (SPF’s) are available here at Salty Peaks. We offer some of best customer service in this city, let alone the industry. So come on down and buy your set today and start ripping~
