The Spearhead is the next evolution of big mountain boards with the most versatile powder performance of the Prior lineup. Big alpine bowls to tight treed sections the Spearhead - aptly named after the Spearhead Range in our backyard - handles it all...and rips in the hard pack too (both directions).
If you crave powder and want the latest all-mountain freeride board to stir your mojo, jump on a Spearhead.
| Riders | The Spearhead is designed for powder hounds who want to maximize their overall powder experience without compromising all-mountain performance. |
| Ride | The Spearhead planes up on powder with ease and has moderate taper for an easy turning ride in any conditions. Smooth, stable, responsive and predictable. |
| Conditions | The Prior Spearhead performs well in terrain ranging from powder, ice, crud, and crust. |
| Design |
Shape: The Spearhead's moderate taper and defined, gradually up-sloping tip only looks old-school; its design improves trim, floatation and drive compared with standard boards. In addition, it negates front edge grab allowing for effortless edge-to-edge transition which translates into a more predictable, responsive ride in all snow conditions.
Radius: Moderately long for performance powder riding and fall line speed. Flex: Stable under the riders feet for power and stability; the profile gradually decreases off the underfoot platform towards the tip providing forgiveness and float in the powder without sacrificing performance. The underfoot platform remains for a few cm past the rear inserts, then tapers quickly into small, soft tail section - this creates added pop, power and edgehold stability. Strength: Bombproof. All Prior boards are built to last. |
