Spark R&D Backcountry Kit

So getting caught in an avalanche is the worst thing that could happen to you in the backcountry, and a TON of splitboarding gear considered necessary revolves around avalanche safety. But nobody talks about the second worst thing that could happen to you; gear failure! You could definitely be caught WAY out there with a broken strap, lost screw, or stuck ratchet which could shut down your ability to get out of there safely.
