Burton Flex Rating: 5
Construction:
Mystery Construction: Shaving weight while enhancing feel and strength, Mystery Construction reveals a board that’s lighter than anything Burton has seen to date. Much of it’s a secret, but the combination of a precision milled Ultrafly Core and proprietary carbon-fiber matrix drops serious weight while maintaining a playful and snappy ride. Exclusively offered on the Mystery, the first board created entirely within Craig’s, Burton’s in-house proto factory.
Flying V: The best of both worlds. Reverse camber in-between and outside of your feet and regular camber underfoot makes Flying-V have the stability and pop of camber, with the float and edge-to-edge quickness of reverse camber.
The Channel: Gives the board much more natural flex while improving board feel when combined with ESTTM Bindings.
Ultrafly Core: The precision-milled core revolutionizes the strength-to-weight ratio and performance achievable from Burton’s lightest core ever. Exclusive to the Mystery and VaporTM.
Mulitzone EGD: In four separate zones, the wood grain is perpendicular to the core adjacent to The Channel – the area from which a rider’s power emanates – for ultimate strength and edge control.
Mystery Glass: using a formula from the future, Mystery Glass is the result of a robotic-built complex carbon layup that allows us to manipulate flex and feel while revolutionizing the strength-to-weight ratio.
Methlon Base: The secret to speed is Teflon® – quite possibly Earth’s slickest substance. Highly durable and low-maintenance, Methlon creates blistering speed that lasts all season. Exclusive to the Mystery.
Frostbite Edges: Edges beneath your bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don’t, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining ever forgiving in softer conditions.
Stainless Steel Edges: Get superior defense against rust and corrosion for edges that remain razor-sharp.
Pro-Tip: A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.
Infinite Ride: This Burton-exculsive technology allows us to maximize pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Springloaded, Rocker, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite RideTM your board will maintain its flex, pop, and feel from the first day forward, season after season.
Microfinish: Every board Burton makes is waxed, buffed, finessed, and shred-ready before leaving the factory. Their Microfinish process involves over 30 finishing steps, including an edge tune and detune, that puts the right amount of sharpness and bevel on each board to ensure the perfect finish for all riding styles and conditions.
Enduro Waxing Process: After Microfinishing comes Enduro Waxing. Each board is waxed and hot-buffed for a shiny, super fast ride right out of the shop.
