Look, I’m not from here. I recently moved here from Boston where you either had to ride 60mm wheels on your short board just to navigate the terrible streets or you just took the subway to the skate spot. Most people who haven’t ever been to Utah know nothing about it, or have no interest in it whatsoever, myself was included in that list. But then I got here. And maybe it was one of those moments where when you expect nothing at all everything blows you away, but I don’t actually think that’s the case. Besides the good people, the awesome climate, the pace of life, and the inexpensive cost of living, Utah also offers NATURE. Again, I don’t think I appreciate this on the level of many of you but even just driving to Salty Peaks everyday and staring at these crazy Jurassic Park mountains just makes the day that much better. Now, I am newer to the world of Longboarding, in fact, I was pretty dickish about it until my boy Zac talked some sense into me, so using my trained eye for street skate spots I am now looking at these hills and these mountains and I don’t think I have ever been anywhere else that has this many downhill runs with such a relatively low amount of traffic. I challenge anyone reading this to tell me of a better place that has huge, well paved runs within proximity to a 7-11 and a hospital with gorgeous views to enjoy at the same time! If you don’t believe me check out two of these videos that were posted on the Salty Peaks Facebook wall today and get your ass to Utah! But don’t stay here, we like it just as it is. We don’t need people clogging our streets like they did in Austin.
