I was sad to say I missed this film this year at Sundance by my sister was cool enough to go see it for us and report back. She said it was awesome, very inspirational, and Kevin Pearce and his brother Adam were there to answer questions and entice kids to wear helmets.
For those of you who don’t know anything about Kevin Pearce, Kevin was training in 2009 to compete against longtime rival Shaun White in the 2010 Olympics. He suffered severe head trauma at Park City and it took years of rehabilitation to get him back on his feet. This documentary follows Kevin and his family as he tries to decided whether or not he wants to get back on the snow – even though doctors tell him that one more injury will kill him. Here’s a video from Burton of Kevin’s first time back on the snow. I have to say that it’s pretty hard to watch because even you the viewer are like dude, don’t fall – YOU WLL DIE!
