A lot of people in the world have been waiting for today’s iPhone 5s announcement. I am one of them because I have had a cracked screen on my iPhone 4 for months and I am due for an upgrade. I use my iPhone camera every single day. I have even filmed a few Salty Peaks YouTube videos with it, but to be honest the iPhone 4 I have is starting to look lackluster and I want an upgrade.
So here’s what the new iPhone 5s has to offer skaters and snowboarders. The main two features I found interesting is the burst mode and super slo-mo. The burst mode is rad. It shoots a 10 frame per second burst which will allow you to make your own sequence in the press of a button.

Once your sequence is shot you have a few options. The Iphone 5s will offer up the best image from the sequence according to light/blur, etc. If you just wanted one photo out of the sequence there you go. You can also browse all 20 images and save 1 or a few or all. This is pretty sweet, especially since one of my biggest pet peeves with the iPhone camera is how damn long it takes to shoot a photo.
The other cool feature is found in the video portion of the iPhone 5s. It is a 120 fps (frames per second) slo-mo. So you can shoot in regular speed and then get the trick in 720p HD slow motion.
(This is 120fps from a GoPro)
On top of all that the iPhone 5s has a five-element lens and a f/2.2 maximum aperture setting, a new two-tone LED flash system that uses a white and amber LED to give you truer colors and in general your snapshots will be certified fresh. It does this with a 15% larger active sensor area with larger 1.5 micron pixels for better low-light performance. If you are up for an upgrade like me, congrats.
