For those of you fortunate enough to live and ride in the great state of Utah, you’ve probably seen our boy Kyle Harmon in the mix. He frequents Brighton and Park City, but can pretty much be found anywhere that snowboarding happens. He recently wrapped up a wild weekend doing some pre-season shredding up in the Brighton/Guardsman Pass area, so here’s a little inside look at the shenanigans that went down and just how much fun there is to be had here in Utah.
Kyle with a PROPER handplant.
The gang, consisting of Josh Penny, Mike Mindala, and Kyle, with photos by him, Josh Penny, Jake Lake, Alex Veilleux, started out at a spot in the Brighton area. Equipped with, and I quote, “… 2 full slabs of ribs, a ton of man sodas both days, and a stupid amount of tricks,” the boys had, “Just good times and even better laughs. Solid way to kick off the season.” Not much more you can ask for.
Switch front board pretzel with the most delicious photo bomb ever.
Day 2, the gang headed up into the woods of Guardsman Pass. After some brief good times and a few photos, for a reason that is beyond me, the police showed up and busted people for being on private property. I have ridden at Guardsman a number of times and never even knew that was an issue, but maybe they’re getting stricter this year.
Air to fakie tail grab before the cops…
If that wasn’t rough enough, a dirt patch proved stickier than expected, and Josh stuck an epic scorpion resulting in 4 stitches in his hand. Bummer.
But all was not lost! After leaving the cops in the dust, they headed back up into Brighton territory to keep the party going.
Harmon has tail presses on lock.
Pre-season is always one of the best times of the year. Everyone is beyond stoked that there is snow, and can’t wait to hike into the hills to get it. The snow is probably almost all melted up in the mountains, but we’re sure to get some more soon and I can’t wait to get after it with Harmon and the gang. Stayed tuned for more pre-season shenanigans, and feel free to send us pictures from your own epic adventures. Cheers.
