This is the most asinine thing I’ve ever heard. A complete accident happened on the slopes of Breckenridge, and now a local snowboarder, Michael Manzer, owes some whiny skiier from New York $887,000. Basically, neither party could see each other at a certain part of the cat track near the C Lift between Peak 8 and 9, and they collided. It was a pretty gnarly collision, as they were both knocked unconscious and suffered a number of injuries. However, there was clearly no one was at fault, but the skiier, Cynthia “Money Bags” Mitchell, decided she needed to get a life-ruining amount of money from Michael, who couldn’t even afford to get the medical attention he needed after the accident.
What was that lesson we all learned as kids? O that’s right, ACCIDENTS F@$KING HAPPEN. Why do people insist on being such douche bags? There isn’t always someone at fault, but a$$holes like Cynthia just have to blame someone for their problems. I’ve been hit many times on snowboard because skiing and snowboarding are inherently dangerous, but I would never think to ruthlessly attack someone over an accident. The lesson here is to stay safe, wear a helmet, and always try to be fully aware of your surroundings, because you never know when people live Ms. Mitchell will go after your livelihood.
