The 2027 Burton Tourist is a highly specialized, traditional strap-binding boot built specifically for long-distance splitboard touring and high-consequence backcountry descents. Developed in close collaboration with team riders and the hardware team at Spark R&D, the Tourist is designed from the ground up to solve the mechanical issues regular boots face on the skin track.
The standout feature of the Tourist is its unique increased negative flex upper construction. This structural modification allows the cuff to hinge backwards much further than a standard resort boot, significantly extending your stride length and improving glide efficiency while skinning up steep tracks. When locked into descent mode, a 1:1 firm-flex PowerUp Tongue provides immediate, crisp energy transfer down to your edges. For navigating rocky ridge lines and slick boot packs, the boot is equipped with a high-traction Vibram® MT Outsole featuring durable EcoStep™ rubber. Dual-zone Speed Zone™ lacing allows you to completely isolate the tension between the lower foot and upper cuff, and Burton includes integrated backup lace loops and a set of traditional laces to guarantee you can always securely tie your boots to get back to the trailhead in case of an emergency field failure.
