By now, most of you have probably heard the tragic news that 5 snowboarders were killed this weekend in Loveland Pass, CO. Among the deceased was a regular here at the shop, Joe Timlin, Regional Sales Manager for Jones Snowboards. I had the opportunity to hang out with Joe and talk Jones at the SIA tradeshow in Denver this past January, and even in that brief whirlwind of a time, I could tell Joe was a solid human being. Hearing him talk about Jones was incredible. He could have easily talked for hours about the boards because of just how much he loved his job and snowboarding as a whole. He seemed to have a passion that is rare in the industry today, and one that will not be able to be replaced. There is a great article on Vail Today about Joe that is definitely worth a read:
All of us here at the shop extend our deepest sympathies to Joe’s wife, Krissy, and all his friends and family, both his relatives and snowboard family, as well as everyone affected by this terrible incident.
