MOMA PS1 is a branch of the NYC Museum of Modern Art and every year they have a young architects competition where a young architect designs a “Party Wall” a freestanding structure for people to gather in and around for summer events in Long Island City, NY. This year’s competition was won by CODA and the reason you are hearing about it is because she used the leftovers from Comet Skateboarding’s manufacturing process. Most people would never even know because the structure is so beautiful, but a skater recognizes the leftover nose and tail instantly. You can read more about the project here, there are construction photos here, and if you are in the NYC metro area it opens in late June.
