Do I understand why this is fun, yes. Am I slightly jealous that I don’t have $8500 and a jet ski burning a hole in my pocket? yes. Would I rent one of these if I was drunk in Cancun? Probably. That being said – this thing is ridiculous. I can’t think of any activity that takes so much effort just to get started! There is absolutely no way this will take off in a mainstream fashion. First of all you need $8500 to buy the Flyboard. Secondly you need to own a jet ski or buy a jet ski ($5,000-$12,000) Third, you gotta drag all this crap to a lake or the ocean and set it all up. Fourth, I feel like there is a serious risk of drowning or head/back injuries. But what do I know – you watch the video and decide for yourself.
