This interview is bittersweet. Today is Ellery’s last day for the summer. She is leaving us for the majestic shores of Hood River until she returns again for another epic winter in the Utah mountains. But before she parts, let’s get to know a bit about the badass shred chick that is Ellery Young.
1. First off Ellery, congratulations on the recent graduation from the U of U! How does it feel to be done with school?
A: Pretty radical. Also a little scary. Now I have to pretend to be a grown up some more.
2. We’re all bummed you’re leaving us for the summer, but how excited are you to be heading home? Any big plans?
A: Yes! I get to hang out with my little brothers! Um… snowboarding, kiteboarding, floating rivers, and definitely some camping.
3. What brought you to Utah in the first place?
A: The snow, duh. With a little school on the side.
4. Tell us about your job here at the shop. I understand you are one of the Queens of Pinterest.
A: Oh yes, I’m pretty freaking good at pinning. Also I sell cool stuff to people.
5. I’m sure the people at home would love to know the inspiration behind your Shop Girl photo if you’d care to tell us about that.
A: Haaaa… well I’m recently single and I’m pretty good at it. So the picture just captures my every day life. Pretty much.
6. Of the handsome hunks in the picture, who’s the one you’d most want to show off at your high school reunion?
A: Danny Davis! Of course. Just my dream mountain man.
