There has been a growing trend in the action sports world, one that I’m sure the ladies appreciate. I’m talking about the return of class. Working in a skate and snow shop, we see all kinds of shredders come in, each with their own style. While there has been a shocking increase in the number of Jedi braids and mullets to scene, mostly among longboarders I’ve noticed, the one look that seems to be growing the fastest is the clean cut, stylish trims, often referred to as the greaser look. I myself recently cleaned up my act (hair wise), which sparked the idea to highlight some awesome local barber shops in town where you can get your very own slick look.
The first stop on this hair tour is where I recently went for a trim, Jed’s Barber Shop. Jed is an incredibly nice guy and always great to see in the shop. He employs a healthy number of lovely ladies who know their way around a man’s head (did that sound dirty?). I myself go to Allie for all my hair styling needs. If being great barbers isn’t enough for you, each haircut comes with a hot lather straight razor finish around your hair line, soothing neck massage, hair styling, and a frosty old fashion soda. Even with all this high-caliber talent and sweet perks, Jed’s is still able to remain modestly priced.
A little before and after for ya.
Located at 212 South 700 East, SLC, UT 84102, Jed’s also specializes in old school razor shaves, just another great perk that makes them stand out. Jed himself happens to be an expert at it, as well as a couple other classy gentlemen who are able to shave your entire head without a single drop of blood. So next time you’re in need of a clean up or a full blown down-to-the-skin shave, take Jed’s Barber Shop into consideration.
If you don’t happen to be in the Salt Lake area but are in the mood to class it up, check out another awesome blog, the Art Of Manliness, and take a look at their Barber Shop Locator. There’s bound to be a local barber in your area. But for now, I’ll leave you with a pretty cool timelapse of the long process of decorating the walls of Jed’s with all the rad black and white photos they have on their walls. Cheers.
