The OneWheel wave has taken off in Salt Lake City! They can be seen cruising sidewalks, mobbing mountain bike trails, commuting to work, and even riding the Nines with other cyclists! They are awesome! Even helping us rethink how we do transportation both daily and when on vacation. With dimensions starting at 27″ x 10.5″ x 8.75″ it easily can fit in a suitcase. Forget about that rental car and discover completely new cities unfazed and with ease. You can even meet up with other riders and groups using the OneWheel app. It shows other riders in your area and will even notify you of group rides that are going on in the area. Make new friends and find some unique places to rip.
All OneWheels run on electricity with a 750-watt Hyper Core motor making it cleaner than a bus. Environmentalism is something that everyone has on their mind (or should anyway). OneWheel is helping bring that carbon footprint down! Easy to transport, charges in the car, and gives you a fun way to make your way around.
The OneWheel currently offers three models; Pint, Pint X, and the GT. Each one comes with slightly different specs to personalize exactly what you need. You like the slow roll, speed is scary, perhaps even roll around your neighborhood taking in the beauty of what’s nearby, the Pint would be perfect. The smallest of the three but still boasts a battery life of 6-8 miles with a top speed of 16 mph.
Stepping up to the plate next is the Pint X. Developed side by side with the GT they’re the new generation of OneWheels with better capabilities and power. The Pint X is a supercharged little baddie with an 18-mile range and a max speed of 18 mph. That’s double the capacity and 2 mph faster! Less time on the board means less strain on your legs so even when you get to your destination you still have some in the tank.
Off-road, on-road, whatever mischief you want to get into, the OneWheel GT is the one. They really did create a beast. The OneWheel GT has a top speed of 20 mph with a range of 20-32 miles per charge. The whole thing has been redesigned; an increase in battery power gives you a 3 hp output (increasing acceleration, speed, and distance), increased headlight visibility with 300% more lumens than previous models, and the choice between a treaded or smooth tire. It can go anywhere anytime!
You must be chomping at the bit, lemme buy one, lemme buy one, lemme buy one. Take a second to learn a little bit about how the OneWheel works and what you can do to protect yourself and ride with more confidence than before. This is a perfect time too especially since OneWheel is busy fixing their GT. Get out an practice before your the last one!
Attached below are some videos that will help you understand the mechanics of riding a OneWheel and keep you safe while you are out enjoying yourself.
