Never Summer isn’t a new company. They’ve been around since 1983. They have their own factory in Denver, CO where they build every board they sell. All of their materials come from US manufacturers as well. The boards are hand built and they are legendary for their quality. They are able to design, build, and test boards in days or weeks, allowing them a lot of flexibility. Recently Never Summer secured a patent on their Rocker and Camber technology and it’s this tech that has brought them into the spotlight in recent years.
With Never Summer becoming such a big player in the snowboard industry, we thought it would be cool to break down their technologies and explain them simply, for everyone to understand. There’s a lot of talk out there about this technology or that one.. This should help everyone identify what’s useful for them. So let’s skip the filler and get to it.
R.C. Technology: Rocker and camber combined for the best of both! Rocker between the bindings provides a playful feel and plentiful float in the pow, with camber in the nose and tail for huge ollie power and incredible stability in all conditions.
Vario Power Grip: Always equipped with R.C. Tech, this enhanced sidecut has 3 different radii blended to offer 5 subtle contact points. This gives you maximum grip and precision with minimal drag.
CDS Damping System: Extreme vibration damping with the most rubber of all Never Summers placed in strategic places to cancel vibration caused by carbon and metal edges. Super stable and smooth in all conditions.
RDS 1 Damping System: Maximum damping with 3 layers of rubber foil in the board. Absorbs vibrations that cause instability and chatter. Now that’s smooth.
RDS 2 Damping System: Narrower rubber foils than RDS 1 for a smooth, damp ride with less weight.
EDS Damping System: Minimal damping to absorb vibration while maintaining a crisp, snappy feel and minimal weight.
Carbonium Laminate Technology: Advanced top and bottom carbon laminates shed weight while adding power and response.
Carbon V-Twin Laminate Tech: Carbon V’s running from the bindings to the contact points for quicker edge to edge response, more pop, and greater edge hold.
Carbon VXR Laminate Tech: Short Carbon V’s running out from the bindings make turns quicker without making the board too stiff and a smaller V’s add mad pop.
Durasurf Sintered 2501 Base: A hard, good quality base for high speed and durability.
Durasurf Sintered 4501 Base: A very hard, high quality, sintered base for the most speed and durability possible.
Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base: A super hard, super fast base with the perfect amount of graphite for an additional boost of speed.
So for example, this is the SL listing from our website, and a list of the technology that it incorporates:
