Thank you Rome Snowboards, for having the balls to say what we were all thinking.
Back at the end of January, right before the SIA trade show, Outside Magazine had the audacity to post an article, written by a moronic skier named Marc Peruzzi, stating that there was no saving snowboarding. Follow the link if you need to read this nonsense for yourself, but rest assured, it is full of false assumptions and misinformation from someone who clearly knows nothing about the state of the snowboard industry.
Can Snowboarding Be Saved? – Outside Magazine
Outside Magazine attempted to win snowboarders back by asking industry veteran Annie Fast to write a response about the many articles coming out claiming snowboarding is dying. Annie wrote a great piece, proving that Marc is not only an idiot, but that the “facts” and statistics he wrote about were completely wrong. However, the damage was done and it still came across as a poor attempt to save face on Outside’s part.
Snowboarding Lives! (Long Live Snowboarding!)
Enter Rome Snowboards. Rome is the epitome of snowboarders supporting snowboarding, and in the spirit of standing up for what you believe in, they have took it upon themselves to say what everyone is thinking… Fuck Outside Magazine. People need to be held accountable for their actions, or in this case, for their terrible journalism. There needs to be repercussions for reporting false information as facts, and the people at Rome are happy to be the ones to do it.
If you wish to receive one of the diecut stickers shown in the image, e-mail FOM@romesnowboards.com with “Fuck Outside Magazine” as the subject, and include your name, address, and if you want a black or white sticker.
Are some people going to be offended by these stickers? Probably. Does Rome care? No. Because at the end of the day, you have to stand up for what you love and believe in, and if that means publicly calling out a company for disrespecting something you are passionate about, then so be it. Cheers.
