I’m just going to say it, Salt Lake City has the best snowboard scene in the world. It’s crazy what a little paradise we have tucked in the towering Wasatch Mountain Range because within that scene is a ton of amazing individuals who all flocked here with a die hard love for the same thing. It’s a scene that inspired the following two videos to be made and released, but more importantly, it inspired the following people to pursue their passions with a full, unadulterated lust for life.
First up are some of the most truly talented women I’ve ever seen on snowboards. This crew has a unique and refreshing approach to snowboarding, and are currently stacked with the most talented and versatile roster of riders I’ve seen in quite some time. On the surface, they may seem like just a solid group of chicks who rip, but Jetpack is more than that. It encompasses anyone and everyone surrounding that solid group, showing the incredible camaraderie and passion that surrounds this strange addiction we all have to sliding sideways on snow. With rad webisodes and a highly anticipated full length movie being filmed this winter, Jetpack is set to portray just how insanely fun and life-changing snowboarding really is, which in my humble opinion is exactly what the industry needs more of. And if you missed Jetpack’s first release, Polaris, then go ahead and click right HERE to get a visually stunning glimpse at their adventure-filled summer at High Cascade.
Next up is the newest full part from one of my favorite snowboarders of all time, no joke. Laura Hadar was the first truly talented female snowboarder I ever saw, and I was immediately stoked. Since my younger days she’s had an incredible career ranging from heavy street and park parts, to opening FICE, one of Salt Lake’s raddest galleries and clothing boutiques, to competing in the Freeride World Tour, and is now riding for possibly the sickest up-and-coming brand, D-Day Snowboards. If you get a second, check out THIS INTERVIEW we did with Nico Nolan and Mike Ranquet from D-Day to learn more about the brand, but otherwise, enjoy Laura Hadar’s latest and greatest full part!
