Snow King Resort just broke ground on a massive $3.5 million snowmaking effort that will allow the resort to open as early as November 1. The massive project will include installation of 7,000 feet of 8-inch-diameter steel pipe,
7,000 feet of power lines, two new water pumphouses, a water chiller, a 4,500-foot potable-water line running from the ski area base to its summit and the replacement of the lights used for night skiing.The project is designed to mimic the Vail model, and hopefully keep locals in town to perfect their skills.
