With the snow season creeping ever closer to it’s yearly demise, this year more rapidly than others, I was beyond excited to hear about one last grand hurrah to close out the season in style. You may recall me mentioning such an event after we returned from a snow team excursion to Brian Head, deep in the splendor of southern Utah’s red rocks. Well that event has come to light, so here’s everything you need to know, straight from the good people at Brian Head Resort:
- When: April 24th– 26th
- Open 10am – 5pm Friday and Saturday, 10am – 3pm on Sunday
- What: Southwest Super Sessions is all about giving talented skiers, riders, and photographers a venue to advance their skills, create awesome content, and meet new people. In this after season event, Brian Head Resort will reopen one chairlift and our progressive Training Grounds terrain parks, including the bag jump and 4 to 6 additional photo quality “Signature” features.
- Where: Brian Head Resort in scenic Southern Utah.
- Brian Head is located 3.5 hours south of Salt Lake City and 3 hours north of Las Vegas, just 15 minutes off I-15 near Parowan, Utah. Brian Head is the perfect base camp for day trips to Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks or other Southern Utah adventures.
- Activities:
- Skiing and boarding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Saturday night after party and Fun Jam: an anti competition style rail jam based off style and progression.
- Cost: $50 per day or $100 for the entire weekend
- Save 15% when you purchase tickets online by April 22
- Lodging: Hotel deals available at the Grand Lodge
- $99 for one night
- $158 for both nights
- This event and the available terrain and features will be weather dependent.
With the incredible amount of snow southern Utah recently received, I have very high hopes that this celebration of shred will go off without a hitch. However, Mother Nature tends to throw us for all kinds of loops, so don’t be too discouraged if the first annual Southwest Super Session gets cancelled. Otherwise, get stoked to keep the season going and I’ll see you all down south at the end of April!
