The Battle of the Beehive is a Utah only skate competition held last year in Rose Park Skatepark in North Salt Lake City. As of now the Battle of the Beehive is TBD so we can only go off what went down last year. The Battle of the Beehive brings in all the local skate shops and skaters.
The competition is sponsored by Salty Peaks, but also a couple of other local shops including Cross Roads and Raunch. It features 9 teams and 45 skaters, bringing along other festivities like raffles and games to add to the fun.
The Salty Peaks Skate Jam is still currently TBD, with that being said we can expect a similar set up to last year’s. We will be busting out all our rails, ramps and other features for a family friendly gathering of all ages. Stop by to compete in various different skate games including SKATE, Longest Manual, Hippie Jump and more. That being said the Salty Skate Jam is for everybody and prizes and opportunities to win will be set up for each person skill and skate level. Come out and enjoy some food and fun with the whole crew!
Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert is a super awesome opportunity for upcoming skaters. This is th third annual Vert Alert to grace SLC and we hope to see it grow larger and larger each time. It seems they are still trying to get the venue right and they have changed it again to Jon M. Huntsman Center at the University of Utah. Indoor with AC so bring the whole family. Many of the competitors are being selected from last year’s Vert Alert along with the top 6 women and men’s finalists from Skatepark of Tampa’s Vert contest. On top of that there will be an additional 4 wildcard men and women to compete. With drop-in from legends like Mike McGill, Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Christian Hosoi and more. It’ll be taking place from June 13th to the 15th, the first place prize for both women and men will be $10,000.
Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert is also super important for pursuing skater as its a direct path into the California X-Games, and your chance to get your name out there.
