It’s always sick to look back on the past and see where we came from. The good people at Scavengerbrand.com, Stanton Hartsfield & Jason Cohn, were kind enough to put the history of skateboards in a sick picture book, showing its original surf influence and growth through the 1950s and 60s. It was especially cool to look through and see a ton of boards we have here in the Utah Skate and Snowboard Museum.
The book is set up in a timeline fashion, starting with the steel roller skate wheels of the 50’s to their clay wheeled cousins in the 60’s. And remember, this is just Volume 1, so keep an eye out for more editions in the future, tracing skating’s colorful roots all the way to the present.
