Welcome to first installment of the Salty Peaks Slush Surf Report, where we’ll let you know the best times and places to surf some sick Spring slush! To kick things off, we have our very owner shop owner, D-Naz, with all the details you need to make the most of today’s slush:
Mon. and Tues. have been warming up the snow pack, with Wed. 4/9 shaping up to be the warmest day of the week with temperatures in the high 50’s. Tuesday night’s low will be 33F, so any freezing will be light and soften up by 11am. The deepest slush will be between 1pm and 4pm. East facing slopes will be best in the morning and good as long as the sun is hitting them. West facing slopes will be good all the way until lifts close.
Dress Appropriately – Wed. 4/9
Boxers under snow pants and T-shirts under jackets with vents open.
OR
First layer and a DryRide top or hoody.
Don’t forget that slush surfing is all about the wax! It’s just not as much fun if your board is sticky. Use One Ball Jay Summer Slush or warm temp wax. For absolute best results and a super fast base, cork in some floro powder to your wax. Get a “while-you-wait” summer slush hot wax for $10. Add a floro powder treatment for $15 for the best speed!
