The summer season is certainly here; what better way to celebrate than by treating yourself to some new longboard gear. Fresh off the UPS truck, are the new Balut wheels from your friends at Orangatang.
The Balut’s bearing hub is perfectly centered so when your wheels are coning, you can flip the wheel around and it will ride as good as new. If that alone doesn’t make the Baluts perfect for sliding, they also come with stone-ground urethane; meaning they are pre-broken in and super easy to slide right out of their package. Some of you may have heard through the grapevine about the recall on Baluts due to their bearing hubs ripping out of the urethane. We at Salty Peaks want to assure you that any defective wheels we had, were sent back. The new arrivals are a fresh batch that will keep you happy and sliding for a long time to come.
If a slightly smaller, yet wider slide wheel is more up your alley, then look no further than the all new KM FSU Hawgs.
Designed by Kyle Martin himself, Landyachtz team rider extraordinaire, these wheels give you another option in your center-set, pre-broken in slide wheel arsenal. The wider contact width gives you grip when you need it, and the pre-broken urethane offers a smooth slide. If more grip and less slide is your style, they also come not broken in.
If you already have your wheels on lock and are in the market for a new deck instead, Salty Peaks has you covered with the new and improved Loaded Dervish Sama.
The Dervish Sama is wider with a more pronounced concave profile than the previous Dervish, which translates to quicker turn initiation and more slide control. The other new addition, nose and tail kicks, makes freestyle tricks even easier. Also, the neck and dropthrough were beefed up to increase durability. This truly is an incredibly versatile board.
While longboarding is fun and all, there are some of us that just love a good skateboard. New to the shop is the Loco 35″ and 37″ from Landyachtz.
Landyachtz understands the fun to be had on a skate deck, so they made the best of both worlds with the Loco 35″ and 37″. Both Locos are slightly longer than a normal skateboard; giving them some extra stability if you want to ride and slide like a longboard. Like a typical skate deck, they also have nose and tail kicks for crushing pools and stomping crispy flip tricks.
Everybody loves summer, so you may as well make this the best one yet with some fun-having necessities from your friends at Salty Peaks.
