The Smokin’ Buck Ferton CTX snowboard is made with all of the great features that other Smokin’ boards of the time were made with, like the bootleg Magne-Traction and special CTX rocker hybrid profile, but the Buck Ferton was definitely special for another reason. It got the corporate Burton bigwigs’ blood boiling which almost resulted in a big lawsuit. This board was the big middle finger to the rich superpowers of snowboarding that were perceived as no longer caring about actual snowboarding. Defintely a big statement, definitely a rare board since they were cut short in production and discontinued!

Features

Clash Rocker (CTX): Drop Spanish bombs. Clash Rocker is our high performance hybrid camber technology. Clash is characterized by a true rocker between the bindings blending into a positive camber curve outside the bindings.

VDFLU: We created VDFLU (Variable Density Fiberglass Layup) to take the heaviest of beatings, the flattest of landings, to give board breakers something to fear. VDFLU is a new proprietary glass layup technique that strategically disburses impact over more axis only where it is needed. We have engineered the glass layup to be stronger, have more pop, and last longer without adding weight or stiffness to the board.

MAGNE TRACTION: Here at Smokin, we build boards that we like to ride. When there is a technology out there that is the best available, why would you want to ride anything else? True Twin: Our true twin boards feature a symmetrical shape, sidecut, and core profile for a consistent feel regular or switch.

Park Flex: Our most popular flex pattern, park flex is a versatile core profile that is designed to be lively, responsive, and stable while maintaining a fun playful pressable characteristic. Soft enough to press it out, stable enough to stomp big.

R3: Environmentally conscious manufacturing is our effort to reduce the footprint that building snowboards creates. Whenever possible we use recycled plastics, reduce waste in our processes and reuse material to minimize our impact on our surroundings.

Blunt Tips: Our blunt tip shapes feature an extended contact length for increased edge hold and surface area for stability in all riding conditions. They also just look sick!
