Dual Zone High-Power Focus Boa® System

Boa’s pinnacle Closure System is now offered on the legendary Ion and Supreme boots. In addition to the speed, comfort, and durability you’d expect, this system’s top attribute is better fit in the sweet spot (mid?foot) area of the shell. This is achieved through a Focus Boa® lace path that improves positioning around the midfoot, which is enhanced by the Boa® High?Power reel for effortless and total lower zone closure.

1:1 Firm Flex PowerUP Tongue

For greater rebound and durability, the majority of our boots feature this dual density tongue construction. Like all our 1:1 3D® Molded Tongues, it’s available in one of three flex options based on the boot. For even greater response, check the thermoplastic-reinforced PowerUP Plus Tongue on the Driver X.

Life Liner

The Life Liner fuses lightweight materials with a more relaxed feel for high-end performance that makes all the difference during long seasons filled with hard charging days. The responsive PU tongue construction provides a combo of cat-like quickness and long-term resistance to breakdown, while also accommodating a better fit for all foot shapes. The Life+ Liner upgrade featured on the SLX boot adds a level 3 footbed and extra DRYRIDE Heat Cycle™ material for added warmth.

DRYRIDE Heat Cycle™ Lining

Warmth and wicking are two key traits for on-snow comfort. Our breathable inner-lining technology utilizes interwoven thermally activated carbon thread to capture, radiate, and reflect body heat inward to keep feet warmer while also wicking heat-robbing moisture outward. Look for varying amounts and placements of Heat Cycle™ based on the performance level of each liner. Reference the liner specs for more details.

Tuff Cuff

Ankle support and inner cuff stability is mandatory in a pro-level boot. Our solution is the Tuff Cuff, which increases heel hold and wraps the ankle with medial and lateral support while still flexing freely from toe to heel. Featured on the SLX, Ion, Ion Leather, Ion Boa®, Almighty, Driver X™, and Supreme.

EST® Optimized Midsole

EST® goes beyond bindings by optimizing the soles on select boots for a more direct connection. Lower-profile, lighter weight, and with a reduced ramp angle, EST lowers your center of gravity and improves feel. All without sacrificing an ounce of cushioning thanks to ultra-dampening B3 Gel inserts.

Shrinkage™ Footprint Reduction Technology

You know what they say about guys with big feet, right? Big socks. Shrinkage™ reduces the boot’s overall footprint one full size, meaning a men’s size 10 fits like a size 10, but has the footprint of a typical size 9. Shorter, lighter, sleeker—never suffer from toe drag again.

This Burton-exclusive brings cushioning closer to your foot than ever before by placing it within the shell of the boot for an added layer of impact protection that sits directly below your foot. Added warmth and consistent performance in cold temperatures is achieved by wrapping it in a heat-reflective material that keeps the cushioning soft and effective.

Sleeping Bag Reflective Foil
